For VDF Systems:
Note: It is strongly recommended that a backup is made before running a reindex. Data may be removed by a reindex if the process detects corrupted or duplicate data.
- Ensure that all users are logged out and all files on the HeavyJob share are closed.
- Open the Reindex Manager tool (For HeavyJob Field, it is Reindex Field).
- In Windows 8+, search for “Reindex Manager” within the start menu.
- In Windows 7 and older, navigate to Start > All Programs > HeavyJob > Reindex Manager.
- Select whether to reindex a single job, and/or system-wide files.
- If selecting a single job to reindex, specify which job to reindex through the browse menu.
- Click OK to start the reindex process.
*Note - If any errors are encountered (such as “Access Denied” or “Can’t open file”), these are due to locked/open files on the file server. Please contact the company IT department to ensure all HeavyJob files are closed on the file server.For SQL HeavyJob Manager Systems:
- Ensure that all users are logged out and all files on the HeavyJob share are closed.
- Open the Reindex Manager tool.
- In Windows 8+, search for “Reindex Manager” within the start menu.
- In Windows 7 and older, navigate to Start > All Programs > HeavyJob > Reindex Manager.
- Specify whether to reindex the SQL Tables, the Overview files, or both.
- Specify to Use Online Mode or not. For more information, see: What Does "Use Online Mode" Do in a HeavyJob SQL Reindex? for more information.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes to start the reindex process.
Note: In an enterprise environment, a SQL reindex for any business unit will reindex all business units since the data is shared in the same tables within the database.
