For VDF Systems:

Note: It is strongly recommended that a backup is made before running a reindex. Data may be removed by a reindex if the process detects corrupted or duplicate data.
  1. Ensure that all users are logged out and all files on the HeavyJob share are closed.
  1. Open the Reindex Manager tool (For HeavyJob Field, it is Reindex Field).
    • In Windows 8+, search for “Reindex Manager” within the start menu.
    • In Windows 7 and older, navigate to Start > All Programs > HeavyJob > Reindex Manager.
  2. Select whether to reindex a single job, and/or system-wide files.
    • If selecting a single job to reindex, specify which job to reindex through the browse menu.
  3. Click OK to start the reindex process.
*Note - If any errors are encountered (such as “Access Denied” or “Can’t open file”), these are due to locked/open files on the file server. Please contact the company IT department to ensure all HeavyJob files are closed on the file server.

For SQL HeavyJob Manager Systems:
  1. Ensure that all users are logged out and all files on the HeavyJob share are closed.
  1. Open the Reindex Manager tool.
    • In Windows 8+, search for “Reindex Manager” within the start menu.
    • In Windows 7 and older, navigate to Start > All Programs > HeavyJob > Reindex Manager.
  2. Specify whether to reindex the SQL Tables, the Overview files, or both.
  3. Specify to Use Online Mode or not. For more information, see: What Does "Use Online Mode" Do in a HeavyJob SQL Reindex? for more information.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Yes to start the reindex process.
Note: In an enterprise environment, a SQL reindex for any business unit will reindex all business units since the data is shared in the same tables within the database.
