Caution: This method will allow the Field systems to automatically download updates triggered from your Manager system. HCSS recommends that your Field systems be connected to a Wi-Fi connection when downloading the necessary updates.
Multi-Year Updates: The Automatic Updater will handle multi-year updates (going from 2013 to 2015, for example).
On HeavyJob Manager:
- Navigate to Menu > Exchange > System Changes > Enable Automatic Updates (Requires up-to-date maintenance).
- Click through the maintenance prompt.
- Select the method of sending updates to the field (E-Mail, Internet, Other).
- Select the foreman you'd like to send the update to.
On HeavyJob Field:
- Go to Exchange > Retrieve Files (E-Mail, Internet, Other - Same as above in Step 3)
- Select the new icon
that appeared on your toolbar (or on the Utilities tab, in the Organize Job group, click Run HeavyJob Update) - A window appears with the latest update to download.
- Click the Start Download button. When the download is finished, the Install HeavyJob Update panel appears with the current version information as well as the target version for update.
- Select one of the following:
- Start Update: HeavyJob will shut down and begin installing the update. Make sure you save your work before the installation.
- Remind Me Later: You will be reminded in 5 minutes to begin the update.
